Macbeth is Crazy. Just crazy.

I found it strange that a man like macbeth could be suddenly consumed by power and a thirst to rule. Although I think this was by fault of himself and not the witches prophecies. I think he became obsessed with fulfilling his supposed 'destiny' that he lost all regard for reality.

I'm still wondering,
would the prophecies have come true without initiative of Macbeth?

  1. Emma and class- this is the ultimate 'chicken or egg' question in Macbeth, isn't it? How do you see the role of Lady Mac? Did she propel him to do things he didn't want to do (11th century peer pressure!)? Although a counter-point to this is when we see in the first Act that they don't even need to explicitly state to each other that they both independently thought of killing Duncan when the opportunity presents itself. Hmmm... crazy Thane? Crazy Lady? Crazy Relationship?
